The 'Official' Gear Vendors thread, with install pics

I know I have seen pictures posted on here of Gear Vendors overdive units installed, but for the life of me I cannot find the posts. I've tried multiple searches and find lots of discussion, but no pictures. There seems to be a lot of passing interest in these things, but at nearly $2600 most people opt for a 700R4 or just live with a non-overdrive 3-speed tranny.

So if you have a Gear Vendors overdrive, please post pics here. And to make this a useful reference, please include a description of your drivetrain (engine, trans, rear-end, gear ratios, etc.) and whether you have long or short bed truck. Also, if you can include your driving impressions, actual gas mileage numbers, performance numbers, etc, etc. this could be very good information for someone trying to decide which way to go with their truck.

This is a good thread, I don't have a GV, but I have been wanting one, & the way I like to drive my truck, I know it would hold up alot better then a 700R4 would.

Put one in last year and it is great for guys that run alot of power and want an OD that can stand the abuse. Mine is in a 86 swb 2WD 540cu-TH400-12 bolt 1350 yokes w/4.10 gears. Very easy to install! GOOD LUCK.

Thanks AirMale. If you have any more pictures of the install, or other words of wisdom, please post them.

Also, I saw you other post showing the 4-link rear end setup. That is one bad-a$$ truck you have.

Only one person on this board has a GV? I'm sure I've seen pics of at least one more a year or two ago. Anyone know who that may have been??

I'm possibly getting a '82 Chevy 3/4 ton crewcab with a 6.2 diesel/TH400 that has a GV trans. in it. I'll try to get some pics soon.
