Eaton Differential Cover Placement - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have searched this site for more than an hour trying to find an answer to my question without submitting a post. My question is, which direction does the fill plug go on an HO 52 Corporate (eaton) differential. This is on a 1967 C20, 2 WD, 3-speed transmission. I have seen some pictures but I want to be sure (read I've already installed it and I don't want to remove it). I think the correct position is the fill hole pointing to the 7:00 -7:30 position or pointing towards the driver's rear wheel. Please let me know if my assumptions are correct which would ultimately mean that I screwed up.

Also, where do I get a 1" fill plug gasket for the same diff.

yes you are corect as far as a fill plug gasket i belive they use pipe plugs which are tapered threads so no gasket should be nessasary ofcourse a little thread sealent never hurts
