What the he** is this for?

I ordered some stuff from suicide doors and they sent me a
DIY cup kit FS SP it's about 8" diameter and about 18" tall.
And I was charged $50 for it.

Re: What the he** is this for?

That's suicide doors products for ya. Maybe it's the left over sewer pipe from their shaved toilet seat kit. Or better yet an anti-tool theft device that is desinged to keep people from borrowing your tools.

Man 50 bucks for oversized tubing by itself is crazy. If you were to order a DIY kit from us, and you wanted 18" of tubing ( which is WAY to much for 67-72 trucks ) in 4.5 dia or 5.5 dia tubing, along with (4) mounting plates, it would only be $46.19. If you're trying to build your own set of front cups then 10 inches of tube would be fine. So figure 10 inches of tube, and the (4) plates your still only $39.71 for all the parts.

Knowledge and Experience is Priceless ........

Re: What the he** is this for?

I'm using 8" pipe to make my lower bag pockets. I paid 38.00 or so from the welding supply for a foot with jagged cuts and it's kinda rusty. 50.00 doesn't seem bad to me if you have something to use it for.

Gotta keep it clean on here, besides people might not be aware of your dwarfism and our working friendship. And yes I'll be at the Darrens BBQ where we can both slap our meat up on his grill ....

Yep, I think I will now have to go purchase a $1000 band saw just to cut my $50 piece of steel.

Re: What the he** is this for?

I don't think $50 is that bad if it is indeed 8" diameter pipe. The price of steel has gone up quite a bit this year. I'd definitely call SD and tell them your situation, they'll probably credit you and I doubt they'd want it back as it would be cost prohibitive to ship it again.

Clint, are you ever going to answer my PM on a watts link? I haven't gotten a response from KP either. This isn't like you guys. What's up?

I agree I had some parts shipped and it took them over a week to ship them and when I called and e-mailed them no answer.

I agree. It's almost impossible to get them through email(it's hard to get anyone through email) but if you call there usually isn't a problem. I made several orders from them and have been very pleased with the quality of products and service.

I have called them a number of times. I am busy also and don't have time to fight with someone over parts I paid for and were not right when I paid for them in full. They should learn to give people what they paid for in full and nothing else. That's fair right?? Tell me if I am wrong. Like I said before I like the parts they make but customers pay their bills and if you don't have customer service you won't make any money in the long run. We as truck builders need to put our foot down when stuff like this happens. I know my money does not make or break the company, but I know my money helps pays someone weeks pay.
