Re: water in cab

Where in the cab is the water? Side..center?

You may have siffered some rust or overflowing of your sided floor vent boxes.

They fill up with junk, and the water runs into the cowl and down into the vent boxes....then thye can overflow if too full...and seep into the cab.

Yep, check the driprail. Had same issue and looked towards windshield...only to find the drip rail needed sealing.

Re: water in cab

I suspect its coming in at the seam where the drip rail is, way up top, then leaking down. This is aprox 3" in from the end of the window you'll see the seam I'm talking about. The way to check for a leak is to get a garden hose and have a helper look inside with a flashlight. Then start from the bottom of the window and graaaaaadually work your way up top. Leaks can take their time to manifest in another part of the cab, so that's why you need to take it slow. I'm always able to find a leak this way.

Re: water in cab

check your drip rails, most times the factory sealant dries up and cracks, causing water to run down the a pillars

Re: water in cab

Mine leaks through the hole where the antenna cable comes into the cab - might be another spot to check (my cheesy aftermarket antenna doesn't fit the cowl correctly either).

Re: water in cab

I had a lot of water in my cab floor once.
Then again...I was driving my truck through a river, and it was a little deeper than I originally thought.

Re: water in cab

Mine leaks in the middle of the cowl, a few inches below the hood area, where there's a kind of ledge that's rusted out.

Re: water in cab

You guys just need to move to southern Cal - it hasn't rained here since March, and that wasn't much.

Re: water in cab

Kick panels....air inlets from the cowl vents. Dirt and trash collects in the plenums and the rain causes the stuff to rust out the kick panels, or at least lets rain into the air inlets that are on the kick panels if your panels aren't rusted out.

Sealing the windshield won't fix it.

The other suggestions are good, too. So you have a list of stuff to check.

Re: water in cab

I fought water on the floor for quite some time, had the windshield re-sealed and still had water... Glass guy finally found it was leaking around the rear window. stays dry now.
