Did they offer 6 lug 16's at all?

The HD utilty trailer i just bought uses rims with a 6 lug GM pattern. I was wondering if the 81-87 or namely the 88-91 Burbs or Blazers used a 16" rim at all. the rims from a later model style pickup truck (88-up)won't work. the center hole is too small and I cut one out and then the rim itself hit the drums:-(. it needs anegative offset like earlier trucks like ours have.
Thing is that i have a beautiful set of tires that are 16's and would like to use them on the trailer.

Re: Did they offer 6 lug 16's at all?

I had a set of 16x6 or 7 a while back. I was told they came off a mid sixties truck?

The only 6 lugs wheels I know of were all 15's.

Re: Did they offer 6 lug 16's at all?

yeah, come to think of it Kevin that is where i heard they used them. with all the junk i still have around my place I can't believe i don't have a full set of 15's laying around. I sold a set of aftermarket 16x7 , 6 lug wagon wheels last year that would have been perfect for what i need. i had to darn near give them away to get rid of them too. Isn't that always the way. :-(

Oh, and an update. Even though the tires on it are not bald they look to rough for my taste. I used the trailer this morning and one of the tires blew out. I limped into a tire shop(luckily within a 1/2 mile) and bought a decent used tire for $25 including mounting.
thanx, crossy

Yeppers!
I have a few things that I really don't have a need for but would be great to have... on a truck I don't own?
I have even bought stuff that was really hard to find AFTER the car I needed it for has been sold. I thinks its the satisfaction of finally finding it that makes me buy it. And of course I paid too much and will end up selling it for very little. And THEN someone will post up that they would "pay anything" to find this part...

16s Were Optional On 1/2 Ton 4x4s Until At Least 72, I Used To Own A 71 With 16s And They Were On The Option List. Post An Ad On The 67-72 Board And I'm Sure You'll Find A Set.

You'll probably find them in the later models also. I am pretty sure the 88 & up 4x4s were all 6 lug 16s. 2000 & up 2wd for sure
