I had no other choice...

I told myself that no matter what, I would get my beater on the road this summer. After my daughters accident I realized it wouldnt happen again this year with the unexpected expenses. I decided the heck with it & bought a bunch of flat black spray cans & painted it. Ill do the body work this winter & shoot for real paint next spring. I need to get the tail lights in it & I can go for a much needed cruise. That 396 is tired of waiting, it sounds pretty tough. Blah blah blah, Im done...

Re: I had no other choice...

Looks great!

Now sit back and await the following comments:
  • How many cans?
  • Why not just roll it?
  • I'd have saved the money and waited for real paint
  • etc. etc. etc.

Re: I had no other choice...

Your truck is real cool and yes it does have that bada** quality about it!! The combo of the flat black and the lowering job just bring it together for me. The 396 is a bonus and I love my 396 as well. What are your lowering specs and tire sizes? Your truck is standing just like I want mine to when its done. Also how close is your valve cover to your brake booster? I want to put Edelbrock Elites on my truck but am not sure if they will clear my stock booster.

Thanks! I have 3" springs in the front & flipped the rear (leaf springs=6"). Fronts are 15X7 with 225-70-15 BFG's & 15X10 with 275X60X15 BFG's on the rear. My valve covers are a medium height & have plenty of room. I had tall chrome on it for a short time & could get them on & off ok but I think those elites are taller. Im guessing if you have stock bb towers & loosen the booster you might get them on it. Not sure though. I can get a close up pic of the clearance if you want...

It means it's like drugs to a junkie. In other words he really digs it.I had to go to my new English colloqial dictionary for a definition.

Thanks -- I assumed it was good, but no clue.

That's part of the penalty of being old. Doubt I will ever accept the word 'sick' as meaning 'good'...

Re: I had no other choice...

Corn, that's a bad truck. I love it. Its hard for me to tell, because the little screen on my sidekick doesn't blow pictures very big. But are those the stock headlights? They look kinda chrome or something? I've seen "chrome" headlights once around my town and have always wondered what the deal was. What are they called? Where do you get them? Again, awesome truck. I love it
