My 84 Build Thread
Didn't technically work on the truck today but I did get some stuff done. went to the local pullapart and checked out what they had laying around. Found a bunch of trucks that I can pull some parts from at a later date. The most important thing I wanted to get done was get a compression test on the 454 in the Burb. Warmed the burb up and pulled the plugs to get the test underway. All the plugs looked to be in good condition, none were oil fouled or out of the ordinary. Here are the results of the comp test
Cylinder 1-125, 3-125, 5-125, 7-127, 2-135, 4-125, 6-130, and 8-120. #8 is the only one not within the 10%. I think it will be ok for the time being. I will be swapping the motors in a few weeks. I have a family vacaand a couple of big softball tournaments over the next few weeks. I will work a little at a time getting the 454 ready for swap druing the week. I will keep it updated as the progress comes. new

Re: My 84 Build Thread
I picked up some Super Competition Headers for $90 last night. They look like they have never been installed. My wife used to work for a powdercaoting compnay and she is going to get them theramal coated for me. I am going to end up with $500 headers for next to nothing!!! I will get some pics up later tonight. They are 2" primaries with 3.5" collectors. They should be more than enough for whatever I put on the 454. Now all I need is a 4 core radiator and let the swap begin!!!!
