New truck, I've got water coming out my exhaust. I knew I'd have to replace the motor, but I was hoping I'd have a little more time. Am I right in thinking it's the head gaskets? Big wet spot out of both sides...

uh, no. should be okay. its just condensation from the the pipe getting hot. unless you have gallons of water coming out and your radiator is emprty , you should be okay. but hey maybe im wrong.

Your engine produces something like 8 pounds of water vapor for every gallon of gas it uses. Exhaust systems rust from the inside out...

Thanks for the replies. What a relief.

I've only had the truck a few days, and hadn't noticed any water before. Radiator is full. I'll try it again tommorow morning and see how it is. Thanks again...

I fired my truck up last night for the first time in several months and had alot of water droplets all over the floor of the garage on both sides.

just to be clear i was sorta bein a smart @ss about the whole empty radiator thing.

Keep an eye on the water level in the radiator. If it goes down it could be the gasket or a cracked head.

also, check the oil to see if has water in it.

I second the "keep an eye on it."

Also, take your radiator cap off & watch for bubbles. They should settle out in a few minutes.

I'll keep my eye on it. Seems weird though, water out of both sides. Not a lot, but more then looked "normal". What are the chances of both head gaskets going south, or cracking both heads at the same time? I'll check it out today sometime and see what's up with it...

You'd be blowing blue smoke too probably if you were burning water I think, at minimum the oil would be chocolate milk, if those things are good, then, you are good

I went to change the oil this morning. No water in the oil, but the person who put the oil filter on last put it on so tight, I couldn't get it off. Put a crack in the filter, had to get down to the corner gas station and pay for an oil change.
I think the water might have been condensation or something, seems alright today...

...It's not for everyone but, if you're running anti-freeze, a sure way to tell you got a problem is to get a drop of the condensation from your tailpipe on your finger and stick it on the end of your tongue. There is no doubt you'll recognize the taste of anti-freeze.

sometimes after a good run some water will form at the oil filler cap.
same chocolate milk color but just a little spot.
