Got the '67 finally
Hi all, I have been saving up my pennies for a while now, and finally made the purchase on this '67 long bed. I have the pictures from when I looked at it, but will get some from when I got it home. It is nothing pretty, but to me it is a beauty.

Re: Got the '67 finally
looks real solid to start a build, i dont see any BAD rust anywhere, I'd go for the rat rod look, throw some clear coat on it, and drive it.

Re: Got the '67 finally
Great score. Looks real solid with only surface rust!
Funky lookin' rims, I can honestly say I don't think I've ever seen another set like that.

Re: Got the '67 finally
Yea, those rims are ugly in my opinion. The guy I bought the truck from is looking around for some 15 inch ones so I can give him back these 17 inch ones. He said he has some, but he needs to find them. He got tons of junk and it may take him a while. I plan to do a full restoration some day, and I actually may keep this one all, or almost all stock. I like them the way the factory made them. Maybe a bigger motor, or so, but overall I am as excited as can be.

Re: Got the '67 finally
Spray-Bomb, I will ask him what he would take for them when I talk to him next and get the other wheels from him.
1970bowtie, He has around 3 other 67-72's out at his place and maybe a few others with just the cab and frames. They are all without motors/transmissions, but in very similar, if not better shape. I can get you his number if you want and maybe you can talk to him to see what he may part with. Your best bet is to go to his place and just spend some time walking around looking at all his junk. He has stuff all over the place and lots of it. He said he would pretty much sale anything. Now that I am typing. I think he has 2 chevy's and maybe 2 GMC's I know one of the GMC's has a nice grill. |
