Steel Box to Wood

Im sure this has been asked before, but I have not seen it so here goes. Is it possible to convert a steel floor box to wood?? And if so, what all is involved in the conversion??

Thanks in advance for any information.

Yes it is possible. You will need to replace the front panel, (wood bed panel is taller) and replace the bed supports. You can make or buy the wood. GMC Pauls' site has wood measurements.

I was at the truck show this past weekend and asked the guys from Jim Carters about possibly converting over to wood. He told me they sell a complete conversion kit that includes all the supports, end rails, wood, SS strips and bolts.
I'm sure Wes and the other guys sell the same thing? Might be worth a call to them.

I plan on doing the same thing to both my LWB's

Chevy Duty sells an L bracket for the front panel to convert it to wood.
