Re: 4wds from Carlisle
My favorite is the blue Cheyenne shortbox K10.Just needs some hooks up front and it's done!
The GMC is my second favorite, only downside is the rims..I like the ol' white step too.It reminds me of the napco's even though that one isn't. |

Re: 4wds from Carlisle
Sort of a shame to see a Dana 60 in a show truck when our trucks that really get used for real world trail bashing are running D44’s. Just doesn’t seem right. Still a sweet truck though even if it is a show queen.

Re: 4wds from Carlisle
It's even sadder since it looks to have chrome just about anywhere on it they could put it Is the front axle the same color as the truck like the back axle?

Re: 4wds from Carlisle
I just realized which orange one...I took that picture just as the sun was coming up and that truck is like a Viper or Torch Red.Either that or it was too early and it`s really orange.
I like the white one how it has a 2" reciever up front and he put one of those tiny nerfs in it for an underhood step.Purdy dang kewl!

Re: 4wds from Carlisle
I think that orange one may belong to a young man that used to come here pretty much. His dad had a really nice truck also and they had pics of them together. I will try to figure out his name.

Re: 4wds from Carlisle
I really like that white 55-57. It had me just drooling. I also like the blue and white GMC. Everytime I see one that nice I always kick myself for selling my black 71 GMC.
It had lots of potential but we were getting ready to have our second baby and needed the money to pay off some bills at the time so that ends would meet while my wife was off of work on maternity leave. The guy that bought it was from Nebraska and was over 3 hours late getting here to Missouri to pick it up. I didn't think that he was coming and I had just told my wife that if he didn't make it I would just find a way to keep our bills paid up so that I could keep it. Less than 30 minutes later he showed up with a trailer and cash in hand. I also really like that blue 71 or 72 shortbed. Maybe someday the right 70-72 will fall into my lap again. I really love these old 4x4s! Thanks for sharing your pictures! ...Joe

Re: 4wds from Carlisle
Did anyone notice the firetruck appears to have 4 wheel steering? Or is it my old monitor?

Re: 4wds from Carlisle
I have a question about that green and white early 60's GMC. Was that two tone paint a factory option with the white stripe on the topside of the bedside?
I can't recall ever seing one painted like that before. If it was an option was it just available on the GMCs or was it available on the Chevrolets as well? Just wondering because it's so unusual. ...Joe

Re: 4wds from Carlisle
The GMCs came painted that way, pretty bold looking.
That fire truck did have 4 wheel steering. He was cruising it around crabbing it from on side to another. It`s got a healthy sound, too.

Re: 4wds from Carlisle
No,but I saw him on the road last Sunday.I think I know where he lives.I saw it before Carlisle at a house near a friend`s and I think it`s where he lives. He always has some older 4wd GMs.I`ll get by there sometime and ask for pictures.
