Welcome to the board from South Mississippi! I can't help you with either question, but I'm sure someone here can.

Welcome from Kansas.

Usually everybody is good about answering questions here but I have noticed a lot of people look subject specific on threads you may have to repost with different title.

Sorry I'm not much more help not very good with custom work myself.

i am pretty sure with a 4/6 you'll be sitting on or near the bump stops. i don't know 100% that it is required.

rather than wait on everyone else, did you take a second to search this subforum already? i have seen this question asked at least half a dozen times in the past 3yrs or so - searching for both 'notch' and 'drop' should return a dozen threads on the subject.

Re: new to da site///but need help

yup, i tried it and sure enough it worked (3 minutes to an answer = not bad!!). any or all three of these threads should answer your question:

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ght=notch+drop

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ght=notch+drop

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ght=notch+drop

there are two searches, FYI - a main search that searches every forum, or, when you're in a specific forum, if you look at the top right hand side of the thread list, there is a "Search this forum" feature that will let you only search within the subforum you're in.

good luck.

PS - not knocking you, but it's generally rude to bump your thread four times in 10 hours just b/c you haven't gotten an answer. thousands of people aren't swarming the site every hour, sometimes it takes guys a day or two to get in and respond.

I have 6" of drop in the rear without a notch. It generally does good as long as the bed is empty. If you're planning on doing much hauling 5" may be what you need to go with.

Re: new to da site///but need help

use the search feature. there are a couple of threads here that discuss installation of suicide doors, show pictures, etc.

seeing someone else who has already done it will show you whether or not you feel it's worth the time to do the work.
