That is Kevin Edges truck. Is it worth $26K probably, but I don't think I personally would pay that much for it but it is probably worth it. I talked to him 2 years ago at he WOW where he placed. It is by far the cleanest 73 I have seen.

Dont tell my wife I gave them to you, but here is your 25K,

Did you notice the non-73 hood Chris?

Was the truck clean before he re-did it?

Yep, I asked his dad about it before he got there and he didn't answer, and when he got there I forgort.
I saw it in its current state.I am going by what I remember, but I think the truck was found in good condition. It was definitely clean.

If I had it, I would offer him $13K for it, if that means anything.

Re: ooohhh, aaahhh...check out this '73

That grill is incorrect for a Cheyenne Super. The edges of the grill should be chrome. I've had both grills and there is a difference, though I know it's very hard to find a 73-74 grill in good shape, let alone a Cheyenne Super grill. Also, the darkened area around the headlight bezels should be black for 73. I'm just nit picking, but for $26,000, why not ? I'm not too keen on the gigantic Harrisson log compressor for that much money either. I'd expect at least a late model serpentine setup with the delphi compressor or even a billet setup for that much.

All in all a very nice truck though.

Re: ooohhh, aaahhh...check out this '73

Well the outside appearance is stock, besides the wheels, and for $26,000 I start looking for correctness if the truck is all stock, especially if it's a 73-74 since we are talking about some rare pieces. If it had a billet grill, shaved mirrors, etc...I wouldn't judge it as harshly.

Under the hood though, he put that dual quad setup on there which means not stock. You can tell that the A/C compressor is new by the sticker on it. Why spend money on that boat anchor when you aren't even staying stock in the engine compartment ? Not to dis the Harrison log, it's a solid and reliable piece, but it weighs about 60 pounds and you can't even take the valve cover off. You are pretty much bound to super expensive R12 as well because the clearances that compressor is designed with.

Now if he was asking somewhere around $13,000 to $14,000, I wouldn't be saying any of this.

Re: ooohhh, aaahhh...check out this '73

Whatcha doin there Jeff, looking for a new daily driver? LOL In my opinion what a truck is worth depends on two things. One how bad you have to have it, and second, how deep your pockets are at the time.

It's close enough to original that it could be put back to stock easily enough, but it has just enough mods to make it cool. The best of both worlds if you ask me. Is it worth the money.....if I had the money to buy I'd say yes. My wife might disagree with me though. LOL I mean how many first year 454 big block shortbeds like this are still left? This truck is well over 34 years old and is still in excellent overall condition and still is mostly original. That counts for a lot in my opinion. ...Joe

Wow. One of the cleanest 70's truck no doubt. Surprised he has it on ebay and not up at Barrett-Jackson or a similar auction house.

I noticed that too. Looks like one of those blank RPO sheets that you can stick in a typewriter. For restoration or misinformation pusposes, who knows. Looks like they goofed on the wheelbase length for sure though. Those RPO codes don't look anything like GM either.

So that brings to question...is this really a factory 454 truck ?

I may be wrong but I believe that tailgate trim was used from 73-74. My brother used to have a 74 and it had the same trim. I like that style of tailgate trim better than the wider trim that they used on the later trucks because it just looks a lot cleaner in my opinion. ...Joe

Re: ooohhh, aaahhh...check out this '73

I wasn't going nit pick on the truck or mention the RPO, but since ELGracho brought it up. NONE of that is from GM. RPO's are 3 digits and the 454 wasn't labeled as such, nor was the tach and, well anything listed there.
My grandfathers bought a LWB Cheyenne Super w/454 in 1973.

His VIN is/was a CCZ1 for a 1/2T 454, I looked

As for authentic, the door panels are covered (along with extra material on the door) the intake is after market, w/ 2 4bbls, aftermarket wheels, carpeted kick panels, door bottoms, the seat belts are incorrect, the seat cover is in correct, I could go on, but... It is still a nice truck.

That trim is for a Cheyenne. I'm not sure what year they quit using it though.

If I had to guess, I would say that someone restored this truck to a "somewhat" original condition. There are a lot of things on it that are not "correct" for that specific year, or model.

With that said, who freakin cares. It's not like he trying to push it as a 100% correct restoration. I agree that he will have a tough time getting 26k.

Regardless, it's a KILLER truck that I would LOVE to own. Hmmm, that's not a bad idea..
