question about wheel

i have chrome bullet holes on my 69 chevy truck and i dont have time to wash them every time they get dirty would it hurt anything to spray a couple coats of clear coat over them to help keep them from rusting

I'm just having fun with your post, but if it is a hole, why do anything with it?

You should add a picture to your post. The type of wheel will dictate the type of care that you should take. Zoop's (I have read) has a product for aluminum wheels that works very well.

i sprayed clear over some chrome craigar S/S mags when i was a kid, I can't remember why... but I remember it looked like ass and I swore to never do it again.
And I haven't.

Its not gonnna shine and will get dull fast. Will keep rust from forming but if they are nice wheels I wouldn't recomend it. I had some Barts one time on my 4x4 that where rusting and I cleaned them off the best I could and cleared em and they didnt rust for a good while but they didnt have any shine to them either. It would be a pain to get off also.
