not happy with brothers truck
had to order almost 2K in parts for my truck a few weeks ago to repair it from the wreck I was in. I asked my shop to place the order with Brothers , they are a site supporter, so I thought Id try em & give em some business.
Some of the parts showed up within days. A few more trickled in from there suppliers. weve been waiting for a couple weeks for some more that we need so we can paint & get the truck going back together. So today I asked her to call & find out what the hold up is. She was told they have everything were waiting for in stoc , except the OVERFLOW JOG!!! Are you kidding me ? Im being held up over a 16.00 backordered overflow jug ? I told em to cancel the stupid jug, I need my damn parts. the guy didntseem at all concerned.

Re: not happy with brothers truck
I sympathize with you as I have been in the same situation as you in the past. With that said... I just placed an order with them. (First time doing business with them because they are a site supporter)
When I placed the order with them, their was an item that they were out of stock on and that it would be placed on back order. At that time they gave me the option of filling the back order when it arrived while sending all they had in stock immediately or holding the entire order untill said back order item was received then sending it out the entire order complete. Is it possible they gave the same options to your body shop and they were waiting to send out all the back ordered items at one time once they had gotten them all in? Sounds to me like there was a small communications error between all parties involved. We all need to keep on top of b/o parts and estimated times when jobs are expected to be done. Of course without becoming a pain in the neck to the jobbers. Hope everything goes smoother from now on. God Bless, Terry |

Re: not happy with brothers truck
Hey Sidestep454. I apploigize if the option was not given to your bodyshop. I have to believe that it was, but maybe not. At Brothers it is standard rule to give the option of shipping what is in stock at the time of the order or to wait until the order is complete. I will make sure that all the sales guys are still offering up this option.

Re: not happy with brothers truck
thanks JC, you may be right, if so I apoligize. A few more parts showed up today, I know were still waiting for a bumper, & I think maybe a couple other things. I sorta wish I had placed the order myself, that way Id know.

Re: not happy with brothers truck
One bit of advice is to add in the notes section of the order some verbage to say either cancel back orders, or ship when complete or ship as available. You can alway call or email most vendors for price and availablity. You should also let them know if you have a "need by date" that way they can expidite the order or let you know that you need to upgrade the shipping to get it on time.

Re: not happy with brothers truck
Sucks you had a bad experience with them. I have ordered several things from them and have had outstanding service. Maybe there was some sort of misunderstanding.

Re: not happy with brothers truck
Sorry to hear about your troubles. That's no way to handle your customer's, so maybe there will be some freebies in the making.
Good luck on the rest of the parts!

Re: not happy with brothers truck
Remember everybody: It would be a lot cheaper on S&H if you could find a local vendor in your state or closer to you, unless the S&H was free. If the S&H isn't free, why pay to have something shipped 1/2 way across the country when you can get it in your own state?

Re: not happy with brothers truck
Ive been waiting almost 8 weeks for a catalog. I called, was told it's coming, filled out the free catalog form on the web page, nothing, e mailed, was told it's coming, called again and was told, it's coming, give it 5 days...
Thank god were not rebuilding a Ferarri and i was able to get what i needed threw Summit, Jegs, and LMC. If it showed up now i'd just use it to house break the new pups!!!

Re: not happy with brothers truck
I don't know why they don't tell you if it is in stock or not when you are looking at the part??? Like Summit. Don't wait until you place the order and THEN tell me that that part is not in stock and if I want to wait on the part to come in. If I could, I would order everything from Summit, they have been flawless. Just my opinion

Re: not happy with brothers truck
With Brothers that hardly makes a difference. Their ETA's are so out to lunch it is absurd.
