Can you ID these mag wheels?

I just bought a 72 that has these wheels on it. The look like wheels I had on my 70 chevelle in the 70's. Any ideas? They have any value?

Look like Ansen Sprint-style, to me. This style was very popular, as you may recall. ARE is making the style, now, in 15 and 17-inch sizes. JCPenney's had 'em as well as Sears.

Re: Can you ID these mag wheels?

I looked up Ansen, and they look like them. Although Ansen and American both put their name on the wheel. I took the tire off and found no info inside. On the back side it says Japan 8.5 x 15

Re: Can you ID these mag wheels?

I have pretty much the same wheel's 15x7 up front and 15x10 out back. They look good on our trucks IMO, I just have to do away with them since I'm going to 5 lug. Mine are 6 lug direct fit.

We used to call those 'jellybeans'. They even made those in 16.5" 8 stud.

Re: Can you ID these mag wheels?

Everybody had them and many companies made them in the '60s and '70. You couldn't give them away in the '80s. We took at least a dozen sets to a swap meet in about 1985 or 6. Sold a couple that were 15 " and ended up leaving the rest lay for the scrap guy that picks up after the meet is over. Now they are coming back again.

Re: Can you ID these mag wheels?

I would say they're the ANSEN "Sprint" or Cragar "Magmaster" -at some point I think every 60's muscle car had a set on it including my own '68 Charger

Re: Can you ID these mag wheels?

I bought a set of 6 lug ones for my 69 that are almost identical about 18 yrs ago. I think I paid $50 for them..

I just took some old tires off of them last week to see if I could refurbish them. They're all cruddied up with road grime, etc..

I heard from several people, including tire shops that the problem with them was air leakage. Some said they got rid of them because of having to almost daily add air to their tires. I had to do the same on mine...

Re: Can you ID these mag wheels?

I love those rims. I've been looking for a nice set for my 2wd (not the blazer, my truck). I would clean them and keep them.

Re: Can you ID these mag wheels?

I have a pair of 14x7 Mickey Thompson Medallion wheels. They are similar, but the dished part has a sand-cast look to it and the oval slots have a lip around them. The outer rim portion is smooth. I always wanted two more, but not now. One of them has a genuine Goodyear Polyglas F70-14 on it. This tire was on the front end of a '69 Camaro that obviously had an alignment problem. The inside of the tread is thin, while the opposite side is nice. The other wheel has a Dunlop G70-14, with a thin white stripe. It's not too bad. Both have been stored out of the sunlight for nearly 30 years. I took them off of the Camaro in '77.

Re: Can you ID these mag wheels?

I think I have the same rims on my truck. They were on it when I purchased the truck. I don't really care for them, but have to keep them on until I save up some funds.

Look just like mine when mine were newer... Now they're sort of gray with oxidation and road grime.
