Stepside454, how do I get a cover like the one in your bed? I've been looking for something like that so I can cut the floor.

its homemade. I drew it up & had a buddy weld it up for me. I just made it big enough to give the rear end some room & also some room for my tailpipes to cross over.

Here's my brother's stepside. It's Ash from a hardwood flooring company. My brother cut and grooved it using GMC Paul's bed wood info on his website.

Is there a source for the stainless strips with the hidden bolts aside from Bruce Horkey's wood and parts?

Nope, (or at least not on their website). MAR-K has the aluminum ones with the hidden bolts. Their stainless ones have visible bolts.

Re: Show Me Pictures Of Wooden Floors

Here is mine with ash. My dad and I make picture frames and order alot of oak and poplar. Dad ordered some face grade ash and we planed and routered them ourselves. We ordered a finish kit from Bruce Horkeys. It all has just straight varnish.

Re: Show Me Pictures Of Wooden Floors

You need to take a look at the Mar-K website. http://www.mar-k.com/
You can get a good idea of price by looking at their site. Also you will have some choices to make as far as the type of wood and the type of bed strips you want to use. I used the metal type which you paint cause they were cheapest. The chrome are next in cost and then the stainless are most expensive.

Re: Show Me Pictures Of Wooden Floors

Here ya go Chuckles!

I waxed and buffed it when I moved in about 14 yrs ago! I sweep it a couple times a week (depending on traffic) and follow that with a swiffer broom. Then I usually go over it with a dustmop with furniture polish on it. This has been working out good for me so far. Always glad to help guys!
