El Cheepo Rear end ??

I got a rear end off of my brother in laws 67. (He converted to disc on all 4 corners.) I had orderd a rear end conversion kit from CPP. Well the kit they sell will not work for my 60 , so back it goes.
The "new" rear end has a panhard( trackbar) mount on the pumkin, were as mine was atached on the axle part
Ok my question is should I use a trac bar from a 67? How hard would it be to make one?
I still have to install new axle seats and set the pinion angle, ( I'll farm that out to to Chief)

Use the track bar from the 67, piece of cake! Or, if you are a glutton for punishment, use the 66 track bar, cut the bracket off of the old axle and weld it to the 67 (lots of work for the same effect...)

Good luck, Rg

Re: El Cheepo Rear end ??

I put a chevy 10 bolt in my 60 panel and made my own tracbar with high quality steel and high quality rose joints so its adjustable. I used the original frame mount and fabricated a bracket to weld on the shock brackets. The longer the tracbar the less sideway movement your axle will have during suspension movement. It wasn't too difficult to make. Steve.
