Blazer rear tank questions???

Trying to install a new rear tank (metal) in my 72 blazer. Which way do the straps go? side 2 side or front to back? A few pic's would help. In my 69 truck I made some custom straps as the bed was removed. Thanks.

Re: Blazer rear tank questions???

They go side to side, frame rail to frame rail.

Re: Blazer rear tank questions???

LOL I wondered and wondered the same thing and figured it out finally so heres some help/info. that tanks is plastic but its the same dimensions and everything as the steel one was. These straps came with the tank, the stock straps had the J bolts welded to them. But this works out fine. the stock metal ones come with some rubber go between the tank and straps to help stop squeaking. Ive seen them for sale from LMC.

Yes Sandking is correct. Side to Side.

good luck

Re: Blazer rear tank questions???

Do tell LUV...... my thought has been that getting the filler tube hooked up is going to be a pain and it might even be too horizontal for fuel to get in there properly.

but WHAT HAPPENED?!!??
