Last bits for my 71', Lil' Red

With everything 95% done on Lil' Red...she has an appt. with the shop on the corner to my shop this Monday. We are going to push her to his shop (100 yards) and he says she WILL be driven back to my shop at the end of the day!!! They are going to hook the Lokar linkage up, install/adjust the TV cable, check the timing....and that should do it. Drum roll....fingers crossed!!!

Knocked some of the dust off her still more cleaning needed, charging battery. Think I'm going to put a "dummy" gas fill in the cab so I don't have to re-paint....I could kill the orig painter for over looking this!!!

Just an update.

Alex

I'm glad to see she is getting rewarded for waiting patiently while you worked on her not yet as pretty sister.

Re: Last bits for my 71', Lil' Red

Thank guys!!! If you look carefully...the rear end and tires are up off the ground and off the tire "skates". The frame is up and on jack stands....I filled the Tranny, climbed underneath dropped her in gear and started her.....and the rear wheels are Spinning!!!!!

As soon as the linkage is hooked up....she will be under her own power!!!!! I am thrilled!!! Now if I only had a drivers license, lol...long story!!! LOL!!!

Interior...still need to tuck some wires and re-install passenger side door panel, lil' cleaning vacuuming, cut floor mats around Infininty Kappa speakers (housings were made from frozen pizza boxes and fiberglass!!!)...but none of this little stuff is going to stop here from rolling under her own power. Custom box for 10" Phoenix Gold sub was made to fit inbetween the seats and look like a guitar amp....it's the little things!!!

Agreed!!! My wife wants Lil' Red rolling, she wants to drive her to her work!!!!...and so do I. My focus right now is to get LR on the road. There is plenty of room in our 3-car Garage at home....that will give me more room for working on Project OverKill at the shop.

Re: Last bits for my 71', Lil' Red

Trust me guys, she looks even better in person!

Knowing this settles my nerves down now, I don't have to worry about giving her some unwanted pimples from cutting and welding on the other frame!

Re: Last bits for my 71', Lil' Red

After what I believe has been more than 4 years...today.....Lil' Red moves under her own power!!!!!! It's hard to discribe the feeling!!!

Dropped her in gear and pulled her outside....she likes the sun!!!
