Rear Disc brake brackets

I saw someone on evilbay selling rear disc brake conversion brakets for our trucks but in his description he says they are for 5 lug axles only. So my question to you all is there a difference between the 5 lug and 6 lug axles other than the number of lugs. I always thought they were identical except the obvious.

Re: Rear Disc brake brackets

67, 68, 69, and some early 70 axles were shorter. Later 70 and 71, 72 had the longer axle housing and shaft.

Re: Rear Disc brake brackets

The biggest problem is no one has found a six lug rotor that will work, so all the brackets and piece-together-yourself kits are for five lug. There are plenty of companies that sell whole six lugs kits if you've got the $$$.

Re: Rear Disc brake brackets

You could probably re-drill the 5 lug rotors to 6. They'll look like swiss cheese though and even though probably not dangerous, I don't think I'd do it myself.
