5-speed in a '67

Does anyone know if a modern chevy truck 5 or 6 speed will fit without major modification in a '67 that had a 3 speed? I'm wondering specifically if the clutch linkage would match up without too much trouble.

I'm going to be putting a 5 speed in my 68. I've been told that they fit up pretty good with a little modification. There are some write ups in the FAQ section on the swap to a more modern transmission. I think the tranny crossmember needs to be changed to an automatic style crossmember. Also, most modern 5 speeds use a hydraulic clutch set up. I think that if you use a T-5 you can still use your old bell housing and clutch but there might be some more modifications. Otherwise, you'll have to install a hydraulic clutch, matster cylinder and slave cylinder. That really isnt too big of a deal to install from what I've read. There are guys on here that will be able to tell you a whole lot more. Hopefully someday soon I can say form experience.
