Custom Camper???

How do you know if you have a custom camper?

My 69 GMC 3/4 ton lists the camper wiring package on the option list in the glove box as well as Heavy duty shocks and suspention for both front and rear.

Would it be spelled out that it is a Custom Camper or is it just a certain bunch of options?

My otion list is really dirty and very hard to read, I am going to get a list of options and dealer info and so on from GM Canada but have yet to do it. Maybe they will tell me.

Thanks

Trevor

I am pretty sure that badges are part of any "Custom Camper" package, but, I am sure you could order some options that are also in the Custom Camper package, but not the whole package.
In short, camper wiring alone does not constitute a Custom Camper, in my opinion of course..

The Custom Camper option was actually just a nameplate. A certain group of options had to be present and you could then be eligible to have the Custom Camper badges on your fenders. Kinda like a certification or something.

I thought a custom camper had an 8.5' bed. Does this only apply to the custom camper longhorns.

Is not a custom camper also a longhorn or can it be a custom camper without being a longhorn?

Curious???

Mario, the Custom Camper nameplate could be had on 127" WB pickups and 133" WB pickups. The Custom Camper nameplate required that your truck have: H.D. rear springs (leaf or coil) H.D. shocks, and a front anti-sway bar. The "Longhorn" is what makes it a 133" WB pickup.

special, while Custom Campers could certainly be had with all that, the only requirements are the three mentioned above. Remember, the CC nameplate doesn't actually bring any options with it; it's just a badge that tells everyone you have a camper-worthy pickup.

**note: I read the description more carefully, and it says you can have either HD rear springs or auxilary springs (or both) to get the Custom Camper nameplate.

gmcblu is 100% correct on this. Springs, shocks and sway bar would get you the Custom Camper badges on the doors.
As for Longhorn info...check out the longhorn site in my signiture.

Did we have custome campers in Canada?

I have looked at the options you have mentioned and I think I have them all but I'm not sure about the Aux gas tank connection.

Just wondered if it was an American Only badge.

After all my truck is badged a 920 not a C2500 or what ever it was in USA

I think it would be a camper cruiser then in Canada.
The fuel tanks have nothing to do with the package.
