My Saturdy pics (8-18)

Well I think this makes the 3rd weekend in a row that I shot pics while out riding around. I decided maybe a date in the title would be helpful. We headed to Canton for a cruise in and from there over to Cartersville. I think it ended up being about a 200 mile cruise. The Canton pics are here http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=1#post2315673

Here's a few others that I shot along the way.

Yep, That was the first time Coca Cola was ever painted on to the side of a building as advertising.

The 4way Lunch is quite the landmark and has been the subject of countless paintings and sculptures. No idea why........apparently people just like it.

Re: My Saturdy pics (8-18)

I felt kinda bad growing up in Bartow county and having gone to school in Cartersville to not know any more than I did about the 4 way. So I did a little search and this is what I turned up.

beautiful BEAUTIFUL pics! i felt like i was back in time looking at each of them. all very well chosen backdrops, for an outstanding looking truck!

i love dallas, but each time i roll thru a town which has "stopped" in time, i wish i lived there.

How do you manage to get everyone leave the parking spaces empty in your pictures?

Thumbs up Re: My Saturdy pics (8-18)

see ten that is a one sweet ride. Makes me want to put my trim back on! (I think when I get this feeling I'll just look at your truck.) I like the pic's. Old buildings are great and they made a beauty back drop for your truck. Thanks for the post, I enjoyed it ....

esll.

That is one of the reasons I DONT like living in Cali. There just arent any great old buildings! At least not like those. Great photos!

Great pics man! I've been to Cartersville many times and I love the old towns like that. Alabama has some great old houses and covered bridges, but the towns aren't usually laid out like the old Georgia towns. My wife and I don't hardly go to Atlanta without riding into downtown Newnan and I love going through Greenville, Cleveland, Butler, etc. also. They all have the courthouse in the center of the road and you have go around either when coming through town. Theres an old rounded front Chevrolet dealership building in West Point, GA that I want to take a few shots of my '69 out front. Seeing your truck kinda makes me want to stay with red!!

Re: My Saturdy pics (8-18)

those are some great pics see ten. how do you get the other cars to clear out? here in newnan shots like those are next to impossible. i've thought about running down to the local hooters and seeing if i can't create a little "scenery" to go around my pickup.

Thanks man! I guess you just have to time it right to catch a place without bystanders or other cars. Early in the morning or late in the day is a good time for low traffic (not to mention the light is usually working to your advantage). As far as rolling in to Hooters for some shots go.....Well i shot this in Panama City many many years ago with a disposable camera. And yes the bike was mine, the waitresses name was Lesley. Yes she has big hair.......It's an old pic. An 8x10 of this pic hung on the wall there for several years. Last I heard it had been removed.

And another disposable shot made a lil closer to home.

Hey See Ten,
We saw you driving from Canton to Cartersville. Sdailey was with me, he noticed you right away he said he has been in contact with you a few times prior. Your truck is awesome!! We are from Ball Ground and we were coming back from Dallas where I bought a 55 Chevy truck (I still have to pick it up this week). We weren't in a classic so there's no way you could have seen us. Are you going to Canton next month?

thanks for sharing the pics. lesley is a lovely lady. i never seem to luck out on a good waitress these days. maybe it's just me but i've noticed a steady decline in the quality of the average hooters girl as of late. oh yeah, nice bike too. i had to look for it for a minute. lol.

i'm also curious as to the suspension setup on your truck.
