I am going to be purchasing a car cover for the Jimmy for outdoor storage this winter and was wondering if anyone has any ideas as to where to purchase one. I am thinking of a Wolf cover from Summit but they don't make one for 69-72 specifically. I would think that a cover for 73 and up would work just fine though. Any suggestions? I'm not worried about the paint as its nothing to write home about but the rubber seals are old and leaky so I wan't to keep the weather out.

one of the major makers (can't remember the name) supplies custom ones and i think they also have them for 69-72 blazers. it's the brand that pep boys carries (california car cover, i think?) they also have a custom one for convertibles, which only covers the front windshield and the open top, and i think it's made to order.

Read the fine print before buying, most ARE NOT water "proof".

I have a Wolf and it's nice and all but the water runs through it.

Contacted the company and got an e-mail back which had alot of 'attitude' written in.
The guy was all righteous telling me there's no such thing as a "water proof" material except plastic and that their covers are designed to 'breath' and therefore are not advertised as water proof but rather water 'resistant'.

I simply replied and mention just a couple of the breathable/water proof materials that have been out for years but for some reason he never got back to me...

Wolf makes a nice cover, no question but they are not water proof!
So if that's what your after, don't waist your time surfing their site.

Should I just go the blue tarp route? It sure is cheaper than the covers.

I would avoid the blue tarp route. I did that last winter when I had my 1970 Blazer and it rubbed through the paint. Granted, last year was one of the most windy winters that I can remember here. We had many 60 mph wind storms that were taking out a lot of trees and such. To the tarps credit, it did only tear in a couple of places and it did not leak water. Which was a good thing, because the top was off and that was the only protection it had. You might be able to put a softer non-waterproof cover on and then put a tarp over that.

That was/will be my remedy, breathable car cover under a good quality tarp.

Cheap carport would be an easy solution but that wont happen before winter.
