Hey guys...this might be a stupid idea, but...my truck is pretty much trash. After disassembling, most of the body will have to be thrown away, too much rust and badly dented metal.

So...I find myself with a 1969 C10 frame. I always liked the old Blazers, but I'm not really a 4x4 guy (well, it's cool and all but I can't afford to do that AND be fast). What difference is there between the C10 and Blazer?

I'm guessing at the very least the frame is shorter? The Blazers look really short...Mine is a short step, and still, the Blazer looks shorter.

Any comments on my silly idea / wishful though are appreciated.

The blazers are shorter...if you want a 2wd blazer,buy a 4wd and convert it or at the least get a blazer/jimmy tub and put on a modified 2wd truck frame.That's the easiest way to do it.

Do you happen to know where it's shorter? If I were to undertake this, it sure would be convenient if all I had to do was shorten the frame behind the axle, but I'm betting it ain't gonna be that easy...

I would imagine it would be shorter from the back of the door to the rear wheel

Thanks for all the feedback guys! This is pretty much what I was thinking. I was talking to my wife tonight about it and (knowing she likes the old Blazers too) was surprised she didn't think much of the idea. She says "I thought you wanted a classic truck, not a blazer..."

Well, the truth came out. I am so impressed with her answer that I think I'll keep it a truck :P She says "well....I had just imagined this nice shiny orange stepside truck, all loud and fast with the funny idle sound and us riding around in it..." :P

LOL, ain't she cute?

You'ed have to take out 11" from between the cab mounts and hack some off the back end of the frame (not sure how much there). Wheelbase: SWB=115" Blazer=104"
