i have questions about this shifter myself. i actually bought that exact same one. but im a little confused on its installation. anyone who has done it care to share some insight?

Not sure about the Mr. Gasket...but my truck has the Hurst Indy universal 3-speed shifter.
Works pretty well....It came with an extension for use in trucks..but still kinda of low.

i put a b&m z gate shifter in my truck and it was a fairly easy installation. i think that the hardest part was getting 1st gear to line up with the 1st gear position on the shifter

MR G shifters are CHEEEEEESY...... and the destructions are a pain in the a--
I have installed one in a 69 c10 and let me say NEVER again! Hurst or some of the others are probably fine. 16 years in auto parts and never kept a single MR G 3 speed sold....all have been returned at one time or another. Jerry |

Here's a couple of shots of the shifter in different positions. The duct-tape on the floor...that's actually an expensive option
 I haven't had a chance to repair the massive hole in the floor from the previous owner made for the previous shifter. Here's neutral:  Here's First:  Second:  Here's a side view of the floor....You can get an idea of the distance from that rear hump to the shifter...As you can see, the PO hacked the floor. So I have to bend-up some new metal, and weld it in before I can install the boot.  Hope this helps.... No shot of the mounting just yet. The Hurst kit is really easy to install, and is actually pretty beefy. I had no problem with the install, or adjustment. Keep in mind the shift pattern is different than conventional. 1 3 | | N | | R 2 You can flop the positions of 1 & R or 3 & 2...but not side to side.

man, i wish i would have heard about how crappy the Mr G shifters were before i bought it a couple weeks ago. it really is a POS. after spending about 4 hours one night trying to make MR G work, i got fed up and said screw it. so now i have a whole in my floor. i may have to go with that hurst shifter.
Rocka, you said your install was pretty simple. however, you are obviously mechanically sound. and i have.. mediocre abilities to put it quite simply. did you have to fab anything to make it work? for the mr g kit i bought, i was going to have to fab and bend some metal to make it connect to the stock linkages. not to mention, figuring out how to make it brace correctly.

i bought a Lokar from Summit. It is beautiful and costs about the same as a Hurst. Plus, it's billet. Go to Summit and check it out, they are cheaper than Lokar.
