Cool Bought a truck

Went to Salem today to look at a truck, and ended up getting it put money down to hold it. It used to be a 6.2 and its been swapped to a 350; k&n air filter, headers, duals all the way back, 1983 chevy 1 ton 4x4 turbo 400. I'm not sure if it is 4.10 or 4.56 I'll find out later. The cab floor looked pretty solid needs a hood and a tailgate
as you can see it needs rockers, door skins, maybe doors I don't know yet, bedsides, gas doors, needs one fender. Its been repainted once so who knows what kind of rainbow of colors are under that white paint. GVW Tag was gone . Its got aftermarket wheels and locking hubs. It drove good the secondaries never did open up, but my old man can tune quadrajets pretty good so I'm covered there. All week all I have been thinking about is this truck and now I bought it so now I'll be thinking about parts for it.

Re: Bought a truck

I will not be doing all the body work my self. I have a good friend who used to be an auto body instructor so he will be helping me a lot. He has done a lot of rust repair on these trucks especially lower door skins. I might end up getting a bed side, and a fender to make things easier and purchase 2 gas doors. I've never seen them rusted through. I think other than rocker everything that needs cancer repair is bolt ons. I might end up buying solid doors because the ones I have are real bad I can see through to the rockers on one of them. The cab is nice and air tight and seals are ok. I had trouble closing the door without slamming it when the windows were closed. When they were open it was easy though. There was a big storm right before I test drove it and there were no puddles or wet floor mats so I wont have to worry about that.

I was just thinking this aswell.....it's a 1 ton, non-dually truck. It's worth it's weight in gold. Wanna trade for my 1/2 ton?

Re: Bought a truck

No thanks I've been looking for this for 5 months now. I finally found her this is exactly what I wanted, other than its not a 79 but thats easily changed. It would have been nice if it was a little more rust free but for the price I cant beat it.
