Re: Bought a truck

Yeah its Dana 60 I only put 500 down I owe 1700 more yeah the guy says is its a real k30. Its a beater right now, but its good enough now that I could drive it around. I could tow something around, but I don't think I will drive every day to school gas tank would empty rather quickly. I've been looking for a 1 ton 4x4 for a couple months now and I finally found one. I plan on slowly putting a lift and wheels and tires on this truck and the bumpers and winch maybe I do not know yet. I plan on replacing anything that is rusty and such eventually but not to soon because I am going to school right now. In the future I plan on putting in a 454 and making it in to a mean tow rig and maybe even in to a show truck but I'm not sure. I think I'll need to do heads this fall/winter. The guy I bought it from said everything had been gone through other than the heads so I'll end up pulling them. I'll end up redoing them at the vocational school that I go to. Otherwise its ready to go I think and hope.

Re: Bought a truck

Kind of looking like the one I am just finishing. And they do tow very well as I've found out this summer.

Re: Bought a truck

That's good I figured it would tow good since that is what it was built for. Yeah I was thinking it kind of looked like your truck. Your truck is kind of the direction I would like to go. A 572 would be nice but i don't think I could ever afford it. Your truck reminds me of a guy close to me his is a white 87 with 4.10s and 454 it has 6 inches of suspension with 35s i think. This truck will be the third 1 ton 4x4 73-87 within 5 miles of me The truck that got me hooked on 4x4s is a 76 chevy with an 85 front clip, and bed its a 1 ton 4.56 built 454 turbo 400 with 10 and 3 with 40 Super Swampers. Mudder knows the truck I am sure maybe he has pictures of it and the guys brothers trucks and and this guys show truck.
