Idea for Caddy 500 swap

I was just thinking that if you wanted to put a 500 in a 4x4, instead of using the adapter for a chevy tranny, in some of the old full size jeeps, they had a buick 350 with a TH400. Does anyone know if that would work? I want to build a 500 powered 4x4 someday, and I was just wondering if i came across one of those TH400s, if it would be worth using.

Every time the Jeeps came with a THM400, a full-time Quadratrac transfercase was behind it. The Tcase took SPECIAL fluid, had some sort of torque converter in it, and had a chain drive. The THM400 output shaft was an odd Quadratrac-only deal, too.
Just take any everyday BOP transmission and put a 4x4 output shaft to match whatever Tcase you've got, the proper tranny-to-transfer adapter, and you're all set.

You might want to check and see if the tail area on a BOP T400 is the same as it is on the Chevy T400. I think it is. If so, you could mate it to a NP205.
