Need Help And Info For Column Swap 60-66

I was just wonder if you guys have changed a column out of a 60-66 for one out of a newer model van or truck. The one I have is a tilt without the key. My question is how do you adapt the wiring from the old column to the newer tilt, and also is there a bracket or do I make one to mount it.I'm a BIG GUY and I need the belly room, also, I'd like to make it look like it came from the factory with the tilt.

Re: Need Help And Info For Column Swap 60-66

I cut the plug from the harness from the van I took the column from and made a junction plug with that and the plug from the 65 column.. The colors are almost the same and it fairly easy to figure out.. Also.. I welded two nuts on the bottom of the column and bolted it go the stock mount. Here are some pictures... The lower shaft was from a 92 Impala but one from a 70's truck will work too... The bottom picture kinda shows the juntion harness I made up.. The brake handle is in the way a bit though..

Power Steering and a Tilt Wheel for the '65

That may help as well...

the column in my 60 is from a 71 chevy truck, non tilt floor shift. the column swap was relatively easy and i believe we used the factory mounts
