Found a winch
Saw this in a local sales paper for $250. Figured it wouldn't even work or would be too small...but it does work & is a 8000lb! Hooked it up with a pair of jumper cables to make sure. Even came with roller fairlead, controller, & 150' of cable. I'm so excited

Re: Found a winch
Good score. Slow but strong! Hard to kill an 8274 like that one.

Re: Found a winch
I have that same winch. I swap it back and forth between my equipment trailer and my pickup. It has never let me down.

Re: Found a winch
Anybody know how much oil they take in the gear box? Took it all apart this weekend & it's in great shape. Just need a bushing for one end of the spool. Originally I put aout 3/4 qt of 80/90 gear oil in it. Went back out to the shop the next afternoon & it had fell off the bench & most of that ran out on the floor Then I saw a site that said only 6oz of 30w motor oil. Is that right? Doesn't sound like near enough!
