WIW:Blazer tank
I have a N.O.S. Blazer tank.It has some suface rust. You know they`re galvanized, but moisture has turned some spots on it.Nothing that a spray of Permatex Rust Treatment couldn`t handle and there cold galvanized spray.I just don`t want to cover the print on top(Amco?).I`ll get pics in the light tommorrow and check what it says. This is factory selled and I purchased it new from GM.

Re: WIW:Blazer tank
Not sure,I ordered it for a`72,though.I don`t remember them saying anything about it not being the exact replacement,as a dealer would.I`ll take a picture when the sun comes up.
It seems anytime I post a WIW I just get,"I want its".Don`t blame anyone, but I`d need a value first and then I`d have to decide to sell it.But,I have a first dibber,at least.I have planned on putting this in a truck forever(since I decided not to restore the Blazer 20+ years ago.

Re: WIW:Blazer tank
A rear mount gas tank kit from LMC is about $250.00. I larger size heavy steel tank kit from after market is about $500.00. Considering the fit problems with the after market replacement tanks (fill hose connection) I would estimate a low price of around $300 if it includes the sending unit, and the inside has no rust, then maybe as high as $500.00. This is just me thinking out loud here and not based on any experience with this. You can get good used tanks sometimes and there are plastic ones available. The NOS is only valueable to the restoration crowd. So maybe I am insanely low since I can't understand how they can pay such inflated prices for something that most people would never realize was not NOS.

Re: WIW:Blazer tank
I hear ya.That`s why I`m gathering your thoughts. You don`t see these. With cheaper options this would be best for a concours resto. It is factory sealed and it could easily be prettied up.But,I`m leaving it honest and as is to verify that it`s an unused factory replacement part.

Re: WIW:Blazer tank
Pics...This is straight from sitting in the back of a Blazer for 27 years. Not even hosed off. It`s a shame it doesn`t look like it`s straight off a shelf at the dealer. Now that I have pictures I can make it look pretty if I wanted to:

Re: WIW:Blazer tank
I`m not sure exactly what the letters stand for. But,it`s the evaporator system that all`72s had and some earlier ones did, too. That`s what I`ve believed. It was an emmisions package.Do you have the "can" with hoses under the hood?Where was your Blazer built?Does it list something about emmissions on the SPID?
Some of the rust is stains from what it sat on.The rest is light surface where the Galvanizing turned,no pitting. It won`t bring top dollar like this, but still a rare new factory part.I`ll use it unless I go with a fuel cell or someone like$ it more than me.
