Hey, all. I'm selling one of my extra diecasts on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MESE:IT&ih=005

I might have others in the near future as well...

Why didn't you post them for sale here first?? I bet you could have sold the truck easily here with no listing or final value fees, just my .02...Randy

I wouldn't mind even having a couple that are OUT of the box. I would like a '70 model, however. I know they're practically identical, but, I just like having correct year stuff. Plus I'd like to have one Marina Blue, and one copper, so I could tell which color I liked best.

I have seen these style/size diecasts sell in under 5 minutes on the parts board, and more than once a few(2-5) at a time sold in under 30 minutes. I just thought you would like to save some coin...

What other ones do you have, color, years and what are you wanting out of them, I am interested

Re: Highway 61 diecast '69 pickup on ebay

They don't have a '70 model per se. They do have a few '72 models, but they are actually '69 models with 71-72 grilles and emblems. The door panels and glove box emblem are still '69 style and the gauge cluster has the four knob holes (for choke, etc) instead of two. Other flaws are that the radio takes up the space where the center A/C vent would be (none have A/C), and the heater control looks like a radio. However, Highway 61's are some of the most detailed 1:18 models I've seen although fit and finish is a little better on GMP and Lane. Here are the models they've put out in the past. I don't have them all available, but I do have the black '72 and ochre/white '72 (note it is a Cheyenne but not a super) out-of-box and I should have a NIB red '69 soon. They all have 350's except the red '69, which has a 396. Some are automatic and some are manual floor-shift. If anyone REALLY wants the yellow '69, I have an OOB one, although the engine wiring is disconnected (I pulled the body off without realizing the battery was attached to the body, not the frame). However, this is one of the easier older releases to find elsewhere. I'll try to track down some leads for new ones. You can also sometimes find the black '72 on ebay. They also have a new '67 (see next post), but as you can see it has the '69-72 hood, fenders, side markers and grille emblem. I do not have it nor have I seen it in person, but I expect it has the '69 interior as well. (Note - I have never seen the green one for sale anywhere, it is extremely difficult to find.)

Re: Highway 61 diecast '69 pickup on ebay

I would ask for $49 for the OOB ochre and black '72's and $39 for the yellow '69, although you can get a new one for not much more. For the NIB red '69 (when I get it), I would want $69 (it's hard to find).

Here are the ones they have out now. They are typicall $59-$65 on ebay and elsewhere. I had a few of these but I already sold them and I don't have any leads on OOB models.

If anyone's interested, I also have an OOB '57 chevy that I'd let go for $39. I had it sold on ebay but the buyer never paid. I'll post pics if there is interest.

Re: Highway 61 diecast '69 pickup on ebay

I wish I had known sooner - I sold a bunch on ebay for way under-value. I had seen the same ones go for $65-$80, but I guess my auctions didn't get enough exposure or something. I have posted about these models in the past and there didn't seem to be much interest, but I hadn't officially offered them for sale until now...

I think I had bids on those, like all of them, but I wasn't able to be home to update my bids to keep from being sniped. I noticed that a lot of them on ebay are listed at those higher prices, but they are not exactly selling fast when marked that high. I bought the yellow one at a swap meet for $30.00.

Re: Highway 61 diecast '69 pickup on ebay

Byrd,

No, $49 doesn't include shipping. Go to my ebay action to check shipping and let me know what it says.

Hgs,

I think I recognize your user name. Sorry you didn't win any of the auctions. The three new releases are priced at retail ($59-65) pretty much everywhere you look (not just ebay), but I've seen some of the older releases (black '72, ochre '72 and red '69) go for higher because they are rare. I'm surprised that the yellow '69 has proven particularly easy to find, because the other two that were released at the same time (green '69 and red '69) are very hard to find. They must have made more of that one.

My first thought was ,"I`d buy that if it wasn`t on Ebay."I want to collect all of these. My cagey ass has been turned off by these new fangled larger 1/18 scale replicas.I think 1/24 is much nicer.I don`t think bigger is always better. But,now I regret letting these pass me by and I should want anything 67/72.I have everything else 67/72.Let me know when you sell any and I hope I`ll have money at the time.BTW,Isn`t Ebay offering sellers a break this month?

Re: Highway 61 diecast '69 pickup on ebay

S-K,

I have the black one and the ochre one for sale (out-of-box) for $49, although Byrd has dibs on the black one. I also have an out-of-box yellow one for $39, but they're not hard to find new for around $40.

I looked at a diecast dealer site and they have the red custom`67 and the blue/white`72.Where is the best source for current models?I`d be interested in the yellow(same as one shown?) and considering the ochre/white.

Re: Highway 61 diecast '69 pickup on ebay

The current ones can be bought many places, but you won't find many below $59. A friend of mine is a dealer and his website is www.phillymint.com (tell him Jamie sent you), but you can get the same deals on ebay. You might want to try www.thehobbysuperstore.com. They don't have the latest models on their website, but I don't think they've updated it in a while, and they have good prices. They show that they have the red '69, yellow '69, black '72 and ochre '72 but I doubt they have all of them. I've tried buying from them before and they were out-of-stock. If they have any older ones, it's probably the yellow one.

Re: Highway 61 diecast '69 pickup on ebay

FYI, the grilles are not hard to switch. If you get a good deal on a '69 (the yellow one can be had new for around $40), you can switch grilles and re-sell the other one.

D'oh - I forgot. The yellow one has a painted bumper, and the bumper/grille assy is one piece. You'd need another '69 (who doesn't )

I want to buy your out of box yellow`69.Send your addy in a pm,thanks.
I just looked at post#7.The Blue & White truck is very flawed:Mix-matched tires,black headlight doors,and 67-70 mirrors.
On the green/white and red/white`69s the upper moulding would not have been with that 2-tone and the mirrors are 71/72.

Re: Highway 61 diecast '69 pickup on ebay

You're better off going here and buying a new one for $40. I'd have to beat him by at least $5, and it's not worth the hassle for me to pack up and ship mine and then buy a new one from him (I still want one too )

Sharp eye. Yes, the '72s are basically 69's with a different grille and they even messed that up. For them, it's all about saving $$$ on tooling and processes... The blue one I sold had correct whitewall tires - that's just their promotional picture. And it is funny how the older 69's (red one and green one) and older '72s (ochre and black) have deluxe side mirrors but not the new blue '72...

That red`68 has a`69-up hood and the surround moulding looks too wide, like they used a 71/72 surround.

not sure i was following the posts correctly... do you have this one for sale? if so, how much shipped to 50263?

happen to have two? I'd like to keep one factory, and mod the second one to look like my truck.
