Finally Posting Pictures of My Cheyenne Super

I bought this '72 over three years ago to use for remodeling projects, etc... The body was rust free and very straight, so I decided to restore it. It kind of got away from me... The lastest project was the motor; 383 Stroker, over 375HP, it's a monster! I installed the factory tach kit at the same time.

Great looking truck! Your stroker, is it a crate motor or did you build it? That's the plan for mine some day as well. I want the torque!!

Re: Finally Posting Pictures of My Cheyenne Super

Wow...

I can only dream mine will someday be that nice. I have the same color combo in my 4X4, but it will be years upon years until I can have that kind of paint and interior.

As a side note, where'd you get the 383? That must be an incredible ride!

Re: Finally Posting Pictures of My Cheyenne Super

Wow! Thanks for all of the positive comments. I've always loved these trucks. I must have looked at twenty 67-72s before I found this one. I really love the blue and white.

I have had several muscle cars through the years, but about 8 years ago I started getting into older BMWs. I currently have a '72 3.0CS that I restored about 3 years ago. This truck is my muscle car. When I get in it, it reminds me of my '68 Camaro RS Convertable I had when I was 16. Wish I still had it!

I agree with the comment about the heater box, I need to somehow clean it up this winter. The motor was built locally in Tualatin Oregon, it's an 010 block (4 bolt main w/ high nickel content). He supplied the valve covers, I like the look. I'll have to ask him what brand they are.

Re: Finally Posting Pictures of My Cheyenne Super

i,ve got a 383 in my 72. 10.0 to 1 compression srp pistons,400 rods, dart sportsman heads 2.02x1.60 valves, double roller chain, towing cam, balanced, clearenced, h/v oil pump, q-jet carb, stock intake, and roller rockers. this baby will fly quickly and i just did a fuel milage run to check it. to my amazement 17.8 mpg on premeum gas was the lowest and 18.9 was the highest. i did only drive 55 mph max. 3.08 gears & th350 trans. nothing but strokers for me from now on.......
