brake pedal will not come up

i am working on a 71 i bought a new master cyl and brake booster
i used a old perportion valve.
the pedal wont come all the way back up with out help should i adjust the rod going to the master cyl
or buy a new valve?

Check the bellcrank assembly behind the booster. Spray it with WD40 and work it some and see if it helps. You may even have to remove the pin and clean it up, then re install it.

How tight is the nut installed on the bolt that connects the booster linkage to the pedal? It only needs to be tightened enough to allow the cotter pin to be installed.
