MY Newest Addition, '68 SWB Fleetside Bowtie
O.K. so after regretingly selling my '68 to TRI-PRO. I searched and searched. Here is what I found. Once I get it home this afternoon, I am going to pull the Holley valve covers, intake and carb and replace them. It runs and drives just fine.
I plan on flat blacking it next week and lowering it.

Looks like a mighty fine truck to start with, she has a paint job that kinda resembles the later 73 up two tone trucks. Cb

Good score man.
BTW - If you post that in the "hot Tennessee Trucks" thread, then I am qualified to post mine in there, even though I am 5 minutes across the border. Rules of qualification. Just kidding man. Congrats - I know you have been wanting another. DLB |

Re: MY Newest Addition, '68 SWB Fleetside Bowtie
I drove it around the farm last night for an hour, kid told me bad trans, I put 5quarts of fluid in it, messed around a little under the dash andhad working gauges, headlights, front marker lights, tailights, brake lights and a dome light. It all works, a little primer and I'll be on the road.

Not luck, just skill, heck can't beat it for a 1,000 bucks.
Running, driving swb CST '68 fleetside. I think its a deal. Found 50th gold paint on the inside and out but they painted over the sticker@!

Thanks, someone agrees.
I plan on trying to get it in black next week. I really want to drive it to Goodguy's Charlotte.

Re: MY Newest Addition, '68 SWB Fleetside Bowtie
That's an awesome truck for a grand! The front bumper looks new! That is cool the tranny was fine. You could do another shade of yellow just over the purple and it would look ok, but flat black is always cool too Excellent score! Silly paint beats rust any day of the week!

Re: MY Newest Addition, '68 SWB Fleetside Bowtie
Nice truck for a good price. That paint sure doesn't do it any favors though. I'd have to flat black it also.
