Rust free/straight LWB bed (ABQ, NM)

This is a very nice, rust free and straight LWB bed. The floor is very solid (has dents). Comes with the tailgate but it is bowed and beat up on the inside. I can store for a while until you come pick it up. $500 o.b.o.

Would you be willing to disassemble the box? I could stuff it in the trailer that I'll be using when I pick up the doors.
I was thinking maybe $450.00 disassembled?

Please help out a rust bucket in FL. Please?

I've never dissasembled one of these before. How much work is it?

It's all bolted together. The only bad thing is they used a #3 phillips head (going by memory) between the bedsides and floor. If they are rusted real bad, like mine, they have to be cut. I used a torch on mine, but they were real bad. Someone said there is a small tack weld between the floor and the back of the bedside somewhere. I put a new bedside on the box I currently have (back in 88) I don't remember a tack weld anywhere.
You would end up with two bedsides, front bed panel, two wheel wells, a tailgate and a floor. It would fit nicely into a 5x10 covered trailer.


Maybe someone else can help with this.
I wonder what the weight is? 500lbs maybe?

Why not get a 6 X 12 open trailer? That will give you more flexibility. You could always tarp it down if you were worried about the weather. I wouldn't mind taking it apart, but I really don't have the tools with me (still in Pcola, ).

I wish I could, but it weighs to much.

A 6x12 trailer weighs 2485lbs
A 5x10 weighs 1250lbs

The vehicle I'm pulling the trailer with isn't aloowed to pull the big one.

A 6 X 12 open trailer weighs that much, WOW! I had a 6 X 12 closed (LA Cargo) and it only weighed around 1150, but it was a single axle not a double. Are you hauling anything else? We could probably put it up on the bed rails and lean it to one side.

I just double checked something. The bed floor will not fit through the trailer door. I thought it would fit going through at an angle, but it won't.

I'm not pulling the trailer with a pick-up. Bed rail idea won't work.
To bad you don't still have the trailer.
That one would work perfect.

I would like to put the bed right on top of the enclosed trailer.
Take the wheel wells out, tie her down, and head to Orlandooooooooo..........

I bet it would work.

I'm game! I'll probably wish I had kept trailer, but I really don't have any place to put it and it was to nice of trailer to haul the stuff I'm hauling. Is the trailer your bringing yours, or a rental? So should I still try to figure out a way to take it apart?

The trailer is a rental. I was already heading out that way to pick up some stuff to take back to FL when you posted the doors. The more I can take back the better.

I didn't realize that the door on the back of the trailer was so small.
If the bed floor won't fit through the trailer door, there is no reason to take it apart.
I figured the diagonal at work today, but I figured wrong.
Sorry. I was really excited and thought it would work.

Still going to try to figure out something. Trying to make due with what I have and it's not working.

I just checked on that one. I would have to rent it in Orlando and pull it out their. I was checking one way and that one didn't show up on the screen. (they don't do a one way on this trailer)

The box would hang over about 7" on the side. I'm going to pick up some more sheet metal in OK. There is the theft factor with the open trailer.

I'm not sure on this yet.

Bring a big gun! Have you thought about buying an enclosed trailer? I bought a 6 X 12 with the pull down ramp in back for around $2500 to pull my stuff out here. Then I resold after I got here. Just a thought. Just let me know what I can do to help. Are there any other parts you need??
