What are you 2wd guys running on 15x8 wheels? I'm running 275/60/15 & want to go to a smaller tire. Any suggestions/pics are appreciated!

I am running 255-70-15's on my trucks.I see quite of few people running 235's also.I like the 255's because they are a taller tire.

I've run both 255/70's and 235s on our wheels. The 235/70's don't have high a load range as the other tires. The 255/70's are close to the same height as the 275/60s and load range are close to the same. Exceot for snow, I don't like the skinny look of the 235s they use as the standard tire on most full size trucks. looks like a bicycle tire on a tank.

255/70's are a good comprimise far as I am concerned. Since niether of mine are heavy wortk trucks, I like the 275/60 x 15s and run them on both the 70 and 96.

Depending on what your after, I've had 275/60s on 8s all the way around and know how large they are. I ended up going to a 10" rim on my SWB rears and kept the same size tire - the fronts now have 255/60s on 8s and honestly, I wished I could have a slightly taller tire. I actually mounted up 245's and removed em before anyone saw (dwarfed big time) so I'd be inclinded to go 255/70s on the sub. I've sent a few pix. If you want others let me know.

nate68- do you have a drop on your truck-if so, how much. That is about the stnce I am looking for. So you can mount a 255/60/15 on 8" rim and 275/60/15 on a 10" rim? Does the 10" rim fill out the wheel well better? I have the stock rims with 235/75/15 right now, and I am looking for something a little wider out back.

2.5/4 drop (its 1/2" lower in the rear now than in the pic) the 275 60 15's will fit on an 8" rim. if you want it slightly lower in the front go with 245's instead of 255's. i went with the 255s cuz theyre wider. BF goodrich has tire specs on their website or if you go to a tire store they'll have them too.

I've ran every thing from 275/50/15 to 295/50/15 295s are actually too wide but they fit. They'll just wear a little more in the middle. But 275/60/15s are about the best size for the rear.

I'd say that 255/60/15s are about the best size to run on all 4 corners.
