Rear End Swap Question
Located a Dana-60, posi, that all the measurements match my existing Dana-60 open. I will have to tranfer from mine the brake hardware. The price is good, but is this a good idea? HAs anyone tried something like this?

Your'e swapping a dana for a dana. Whats the problem? make sure the spring mounts are the same or close enough to make work unless you want to weld new mounts on. Also make sure you have the right U joint. GMC, Chevy, Ford , International Harvester , Jeep and Dodge all used Dana 60's at some point over the last 40 odd years and U joints can vary.
You could just swap carriers out . You dont even need to take the wheels off. Its not that difficult especially with full floaters. I just did it with mine. you dont have to touch the pinion as its depth is set already. The ring gear contact pattern is usually the same if the pinion doesnt change and is easy to adjust if your contact pattern changes after the swap.
