New tow rig

Got this truck the other day off of craigslist. 1987 Chevy 4dr. 2wd 3/4 ton 350 tbi with a 400 turbo. Motor and trans have less than 5k on them. Wasn't really looking for one. One of my father's shop trucks broke down within 5 miles of where it was at. I was going to be in a rollback wrecker anyway, so what the hell. It had been sitting for a while and when I got there it would barely start. It died on the test drive and had to haul it back to the owners house. Anyway, that just drove the price down!!!!!!

Its a straight old truck with the only damage being in the rear quarters. The lift gate works too!!!!! N2truxs and N2billet came down to the shop on Saturday to buy some parts from me and they thought they recognized the truck from craigslist. They were right. They both liked it and they said I stole it for the price I got for it, I got it for less than he was asking. Its just being used for a swap meet tow rig right now. I might be a swb, or lifted or lowered or maybe even half ton????

Re: New tow rig

That will definitely fill in for a two rig!

Re: New tow rig

I've always wanted to do a crew cab with a stepside shortbed. I'd run 1/2 ton front suspension with 3/4 ton springs, and 3/4 ton leaf in the rear with a 5 lug 12 bolt.

Ok I'll stop dreaming now...

Did crew cabs have more steering cut that regular cab trucks ? Reason I ask is because my regular cab longbed is very though to manuever in a parking lot. It seems like newer extended cabs trucks have way more steeing cut and are almost easier to manuever. I couldn't imagine parking my truck with the extra 3 feet of wheelbase of whatever it is though without more steering cut.
