Newbie introduction

I'd like to introduce myself as well as my 1987 R10 Shortbed Silverado. It started out life as a North Carolina resident with 116k no rust a few bumps and bruises with a 305 under the hood. Things are now a bit different.

She was stripped down naked body pulled off interior completely stripped all suspension off all rubber, hoses, engine compartment everything went all glass, trim, bumpers everything every nut and bolt, what we started with was a bare frame and body.

All metal was stripped to bare and sealed using DuPont URO seal the frame was then painted with GM semi gloss black chassis paint. Everything was now replaced with new, front and rear brakes all steering components all suspension parts all brake and transmission lines are SS, A/C components every nut and bolt was new. There was never any thought of rebuilding the old 305 and a new Jasper 350/350 hp was dropped in, an Edelbrook Performer tbi intake and a new tbi unit was used a Hyper Tech power chip was used to bump up the hp. All front of engine components were replaced, alternator, water pump, radiator, master cylinder, washer bottle, washer pump you get the idea everything was replaced. A new Jasper T400 was used with new drive shaft. The rear end was rebuilt with new gears and seals. Dual exhaust with ceramic coated headers and a custom Flowmaster exhaust system.

The entire body including floor and ceiling and bed "top and bottom" was painted Millennium Yellow from DuPont this color was only used on the Millennium 2000 Corvette. The inner fender wells were painted yellow but after we changed that to a high gloss black to make the chrome pop. The interior was put back with new carpet, headliner, dash, steering wheel "billet", door panels, sliding rear window as well as all new glass and molding and rubber. I never cared for the bench seat so I installed 8 way power buckets from an Acura and had them reupholstered. We had to fabricate new seat mounting brackets and finished off the interior with a center console. She sits on Yokohama Avid s/t 275/60/r15 with some nice rims. I put a new bed liner in and topped it off with a tonnue cover. New front and rear bumpers were mounted new grill all trim was replaced. I almost forgot new hood, the front fenders as well as both doors were replaced with new GM steel there is no filler no bondo any where.

She is by all accounts now better than New. She's been done over a year now and I've got an itch to do some more so in the next few months I'm going to dropped her with a bell tech 4/2 the rear drums are going disk the windows will be tinted and I want to do some thing with the side mirrors "any thoughts".

I'm happy for now BUT next year I'm looking at a whole new drivetrain, boxing the frame beefing up the front suspension and chopping the top but all that's for a future post.

I've posted some photos as she is now I have more of the restoration that I will post at a later date. Please excuse the dirty engine photo I went camping last week it rained hard "Florida hard" and there roads are made from crushed white stone and it has been a pain to get it all off.
