Exhaust kit ?

This kit says will fit trucks with coil spring rear. Does anyone know if this will work on a leaf spring rear?

70 GMCer,
This same kit retails at summit for $496.95. Summit doesn't specify leaf or coils though. It does exit after the rear tires, I've got this on my '68. Sounds really good though!!!

I hadn't planned on buying it from those people (too high), but most likely through Summit. Is the tail pipes closed to the bottom of the quarter panel? Would you happen to have a picture of the exit of the pipes? Was also concern about the sound quality. I've heard that stainless systems sound different than aluminized pipe. Do you find that so?

Re: Exhaust kit ?

If you decide to weld the kit together ( I'm assuming you would since it's high quality) I think it needs to be TIG welded due to being stainless. I've also heard about stainless sounding a little more unusual than a typical muscle car sound.

That's what concerns me. I'd hate to put that money into that system, then not liking it......

Re: Exhaust kit ?

I'm not saying it's going to sound bad but I've heard the word "exotic" used like a Ferrari sound as opposed to a Chevelle
