I'm looking for a single brake drum & Backing plate for a 1969 GMC 1/2 ton (2WD).

I just bought 4 new ones from Autozone down here and they were $24.99 each. Might want to check new first.

What did you think of them? Have you tried them out? I just posted on the message board and it didn't sound like the aftermarket ones were holding up well...

I am sure he is right but I needed 4 and finding 4 used ones and then getting them turned wa too much of a hassle. I have no doubt OE is better than some foreign made one.

When I buy brake drums the auto store always asks me if I want made in USA stuff or offshore. I buy the US stuff and it has always worked well.

I got and they are measured within acceptable tolerances and can be cut again or be used as is. Shipping from Manitoba might be more than its worth compared to buying new. PM if interested.

I have to look and see if I have a carcass laying around for a backing plate. I'll pm you back if I have one ...would be a week before I get to it again though.
