How Rare Is It???

I just got a a '67 c10. It's a stepside large rear window, the old man i bought it from told me it was pretty rare. My question is if it is it rare then how rare is it? Or was he just blowing smoke. If you're wondering I only paid $600 for it, no endine or tranny,but the body is great and a brand new interior that's still in the box. So any reply's would be great!

Re: How Rare Is It???

Welcome to the site, Nice find on the truck, as far as rarity goes, when you get it running, drive it to the Mall and see how many other ones you see.... seriously, the only place that truck will not be rare is at a Chevy Truck Meet.

life is good, kent

Re: How Rare Is It???

The Large back window was an option available in 1967, the standard was the small window. In order to ensure accuracy of what he said, check the glove box and it should show up on the SPID. Also post the vin number here, check this vin number versus the door jam, the glove box and the frame rail next to the power steering.

Re: How Rare Is It???

Question, why did you post this in the Burb section and not the 67-72 truck section? Not trying to hound on you just didn't know if you knew that you did this or not?

Re: How Rare Is It???

All 67-72 Suburbans had large back windows.The cargo doors had two,but they were pretty big,too.

Re: How Rare Is It???

Looks like they're saved on your computer.

Go to "go advanced"

Then "manage attachments"

Then click "browse"

Find your pictures

Hit "ok"

Then "upload" when you're done

Then "submit reply."

It sounds like a lot, but once you get used to it you can post pics in a few seconds.

Also, the board has a size limit of 642 mp and I think 1KB on the photo size. You can use paint or photoshop to resize your pics if they won't upload.

Re: How Rare Is It???

Are you sure it is a '67? A '67 with the big back window should have stainless trim around it. Also, it should not have marker lights in the bed. Check the 5th digit of your VIN. It should be 7 for a 1967 model

7 = 1967
8 = 1968
9 = 1969
0 = 1970
1 = 1971
2 = 1972

Re: How Rare Is It???

I have been told another way to tell the 67 is by the seat belts. I think they were the only year with the lift up latch style belts. The 68 up had the button release. Please let me know if I am incorrect in this too, as I am not 100% sure.

Re: How Rare Is It???

Hey Ryan,welcome to the truck board(by way of Suburban board ).That`ll be a great start for you.You`ve been given a couple ways to tell if it`s an actual`67.They had a few carry-over piecesfrom the previous design:wing vent latches and seat belt are two first give-aways.The dash has different ignition switch...not as deep/more flush,lighter socket,too.The interior mirror has a squared arm and the ash tray has a thinner ridge around the outer edge.As mentioned,the large or Panoramic rear glass would be a deluxe cab with chromed wing vent frames/channels and stainless trim in windshiels/back glass gaskets...this could all be swapped out,though.It could be a`68 with a`67 build date.An early`68 could have been wrongly titled as a`67 by the state from day#1.Filling the marker lights or finding`67 fenders would be a simple way to create a`67 look,though.

Ours has handle E-brake. And no, not a '67 fender. There are no marker lights for a '67. That started in '68.
