Thumbs up Some interior questions

Well finally got my k-5 registered and I am starting work on the interior. So here goes
How hard is it to fix the heater controls?
Where did you guys mount speakers?
How about some good front seats. Don't have to be stock I am not going for a stock restore. Just something nice and comfortable to drive around and show off.

seats from a minivan (mine are out of a dodge) work pretty well...no adjustments needed for height, just bolted in

Plenty of options on the seats, I found a cheap used one to use while I had my original rebuilt and re-covered.
As far as heater controls, the parts are easily available to rebuild them, just watch very closely how you take things apart, because if you don't, it can be like a jigsaw puzzle (especially if you have air) going back together. I took mine apart, ordered parts, and then when I went to put it all back together 3 weeks later, memory failure (hold the memory and old age jokes Andy, I can feel you ready to pounce, he-hee!).
As far as speakers, remember your truck is your friend, and it's not nice to butcher your friends!

Yeah the Blazer is totally unmolested except for where the radio is. Everything works even the dash pad is all original. I have the LMC catalog and just bought all new weather stripping and it goes to the body shop in a week to get a fresh coat of paint. I guess I can build some sort of kick panels and put the speakers there.

I just tore my dash apart last night to try to fix (or at least modify) my heater/defrost controls so that I have defrost now that it is starting to get cold. I also had a new set of hoses which I ended up being a real pain to put in. The truck has AC and the fit on most of the hoses is tight, tight, tight.

When I got things apart, I discovered that my flapper valve in the duct work was cracked and broken. I got it set in the correct position so that I at least have defrost now. What kind of fix is possible for this valve. It is available as a replacement part for purchase or am I looking at having to fab something?

I'm definitely not looking forward to tearing the dash apart again sometime in the future to finish the job.

Those flapper valves are readily available from the truck aftermarket--LMC, Early Classic, etc---about $40
