Just Curious....

Can you Hook a 250 or 292 six cylinder up to a t5 5speed out of a s10 pickup? I already have the tranny from another project that never happened and I'm about to inherit a 6 cylinder out of a '69 truck, although I'm not sure yet what displacement it is. I thought it might be fun to rebuild the six and hook it to the 5 speed and see what I could put it in. Just looking for something interesting. Do they mount up at all??

Yes.
It requires a bit more time and modifications along with an old Vega clutch kit, bit it can be done with off the shelf parts. The drawback is that the gearing in the S-10's aren't very good, specifically 1st gear. They were mostly 3.5:1 on up to 4.03:1 1st gears depending on the engine it was mated to, which isn't very usable.
Oh btw, no adaptor plate is needed. However, many go this route instead of doing a few simple mods.

I'm going to work on a write up which will include info on the S-10 T-5 swap.
