Re: Fiberglass fenders? Any good?

Checking his feedback, I see some guy bought a set back in July. Shoot him a message and see what he says.

Re: Fiberglass fenders? Any good?

Those "look" like good quality fiberglass fenders, but it is hard to tell in a picture. High quality fiberglass looks as good as metal when installed correctly, but the cheap stuff looks like crap no matter what you do with it. I don't know about your area, but good used stepside fenders are easy to find, and very reasonable here. I bought this whole bed for $300 and it has absolutley no through rust and is perfectly straight except for a few small dings the tailgate. Have you checked for used stuff?

Re: Fiberglass fenders? Any good?

i havent seen many fiberglass parts weather for cars or trucks that are bolt and go pieces most need at least some if not lots of work to have a decent fit and finish and hold up for the long haul

Re: Fiberglass fenders? Any good?

I think you will like them as good as you would like the metal. I don't have or haven't had any problems with mine. I haven't stood on them or anything like that but I have had no problems and noone has ever come up and said hey those are fiberglass. Noone knows unless I tell them. I would have a bunch of Go Rhino lining sprayed on the under side to keep from getting rock spiders in the paint.

Re: Fiberglass fenders? Any good?

Ever see a Dooley that snagged a fender? No thanks.Metal is better. Is fiberglass that much cheaper?I`ve bought complete decent Stepside beds for cheaper than one repro steel fender.

Re: Fiberglass fenders? Any good?

In case any one would like to know to compair the ebay price US body has them listed at 678 for a pair or the hole bed for 2699. They totaly reproduce the 67-72 trucks you can even get a fiberglass cab from them. They also have long wheelbase bed sides for 898 a pair thats the only place I know of the long wheel base bed sides being reproduced.
