overdrive trans 197?

hi
does anyone know what years that chevy used a 4 speed [new
proces]overdrive trans in their light duty trucks---also what the gear ratios where in the trans

GM started putting the 700R4 in trucks in '82. The number was pretty low. In '83 and later the 700R4 was more popular because of the overdrive.
Gear ratios.
1-3.06 - Sure is a lotta fun too!
2-1.63
3-1.00
4-0.70

Yes, with little work you can put one in older trucks too.

thanks for your answer but i am interested in the 4 speed standard trans than was made by chysler[new process] that used a clutch
