Re: I would like to see some pics of rear roll pans

I was just checking on these @ Summit a few minutes ago. Seems they run anywhere from $99 for a glass one up to $200 for steel.

Sorry about the bright plate .... flash got it. We have reflective plates in B.C. which are not camera friendly.

This could vary with the roll pan that you choose to go with. This type posted is the most common and a 1/2 to an 1 inch is average.

Re: I would like to see some pics of rear roll pans

You can look at our customers trucks pictures for lots of rear roll pan examples:
http://www.mar-k.com/customers__trucks.html
For information on how they are installed:
http://www.mar-k.com/rear_pan_installation.html
For how you will need to modify your rear cross sill (if you go with one with the tag box):
http://www.mar-k.com/rear_cross_sill_modification.html
Ours can bolt on or weld on for most applications and are made of steel.
Hope that helps.

Re: I would like to see some pics of rear roll pans

Here's mine,

Started with a smooth pan, added 1950 Pontiac Taillights and a custom tag mount so the tag wouldn't hang below the body line.

Re: I would like to see some pics of rear roll pans

So if you wanted to weld up the tailgate and smooth out the back could you just use a skin and maybe make a light weight frame for support?

Re: I would like to see some pics of rear roll pans

hey jkade i just used the original gate..... i welded tabs to hold the gate in place.. and when i shaved my rear lamps.. i used sheetmetal to fill the gaps in to the gate.. on the inside i carefully stiched the whole gate to all 3 side....as far as the roll pan i welded it to the bedsides. where the void was between the gate and the roll pan i just trimmed the roll pan prior to welding it up to use the same thickness or metal , it over lapped the gate by about 1 1/2 i then plugged welded it to the gate...< the reason i did this was to not use as much filler.... i wiped the whole area with duraglass 1 coat 1 coat of mudd and about 2 coats of metal glaze... to make it look right there was lots of fine tunning.... i estimate i have 100 hours in the bed altogether and about 40 hours in the shaving of the tail gate...it wasnt easy...but a tree fell on the left bed side so i de-skined it and had to pull it all out and metal finish it.....oh and lots of block sanding lots............

If they fit as good as his 99 up roll pan they are the bomb!
